PSN/Wii Update 12/3/09

(I may be moving my blog site soon to Wordpress. I just need to see a few more things and I'll make the final judgment on Saturday)

Wii

Wow. Nothing. Not even demos. I guess the only decent looking thing is The Combatribes for the SNES, but I never played it.

PSN

- Call of Duty 1 was re-released...with online!

- Santa Hat and Beard for Little Big Planet

- Assassin's Creed LBP costume (sorry for missing this)

- The US demo for Bayonetta came out. I cheated though and have already played it. Can be seen http://templeguardian.blogspot.com/2009/10/psnwii-update-10809.html there. In a nutshell, I said it was pretty fun, had a little problems, but good overall.

- A demo for **Fairytale Fights was released.

**Fairytale Fights. The worst fucking demo of all time.

Fairytale Fights is a hack n' slash game. You play as classic fairy tale character and just...kill stuff. It's whacky, crazy, and very bloody. You can do spins and combos and throw/drink potions, it's awesome. But...that's about all I know of this game. Why? Because the demo consists of letting you pick 1 of 2 songs that will play, then killing stuff for like 5 minutes in a plain white room. Enemies will continually come until time runs out and everybody is crushed by a huge...person thing.

It's pretty frustrating when you first play. You're too busy being swarmed to understand and learn the control and combat. The camera is locked too, which makes it worse when you can't see your character. But those 5 minutes are extremely fun. The right joystick attacks, and you can swing that bitch all over the place and slice enemies in fun ways. There are many many weapons to pick up (sword, shotgun, potion, axe, chainsaw...) The player will skate on blood if you run over large pools. She'll/he'll also leave around bloody footprints around and it's just amazing. The blocking is a bit weak, doesn't seem very effective, but who needs blocking? Just slash the shit out of everything.

There isn't much else to say. Hard to when the demo only lets you play in a single white room for 5 minutes. In the full game, there are a large amount of environments. It supports a 4 player online and offline, drop in multiplayer. Good stuff. Is it worth your money? Maybe. I would get it. It's just a fun little game of just...shitting on everything. (I like how they purposefully tell you the demo is terrible too. In the beginning it mentions something about the white room being there for demo purposes only. Was it that hard to cut out a chunk of the game for the demo?)
